This is a professional muslin backdrop made from a heavier 100% cotton material. The 10X20' size (actually about 9X18' after shrinkage) weighs 5.7lbs. The 10x20' size units also come with a black carry bag to protect your backdrop from dust and stains between uses. The carry bag includes a color window to identify the color of the backdrop inside. Prism premium cotton muslin backdrops are offered in three standard sizes:

10X20' (actually 9X18', 5.7lbs)

10X12' (actually 9X10.8', 3.8lbs)

6X10' (actually 5.7X9', 1.9lbs)

Special dyes are used to obtain well saturated colors which appear vibrant and not washed out. All sides are stitched to avoid unraveling and a 3.4 rod pocket is sewn into the top. Each muslin is folded and comes in a plastic bag to avoid moisture and stainage and then each bag is packed in a cardboard box for ....read more

A very nice value for the price!
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this item about a month ago and, after some 4 shoots with it, must say that I’m very pleased. Since I do my photoshoots in a 2 car garage the size is just perfect for it — not too long and not too short. I should note, however, that the size is not actually 10×20. It’s more like 9×18. The quality is actually better than I expected. There were a few loose threads but nothing more than that. It’s a little on the thin side but unless you have a light source behind it, it’s not a problem at all. In fact, it allows the background to be moved around much easier and takes up less space in the washer. As with all dark colored dye backdrops, I do recommend you wash it at least once before using for the first time.

When storing it, I crunch it up in a top open bag. The wrinkles that come from crunching it really don’t show up much and a few times when it does, it actually adds character to the background. Muslins backdrops should not be compared to paper anymore than apples should be compared to oranges. They each have their own attributes. Having used both paper and muslin, however, I’m actually beginning to favor muslin due to the ease of storage and setting up. Muslin is extremely forgiving when setting up as opposed to the 9ftx12yds. paper rolls which can easily get out of hand, but as I said before they both have their advantages. Anyways, I highly recommend this product. You get alot of bang for your buck.

good quality backdrop, reasonable price

I needed a black and a white large backdrop for portrait photography assignment. These were fine but unfortunately they sent me two black with expedited shipping. after a couple of phone calls they sent the white backdrop and asked me to return the black and refunded the expedited shipping charges. a reasonable conclusion. the backdrops are good quality, large 10×20′ and reasonably priced

I was very pleased when I received this item….

It was very large, and I felt secure in the material.

It also comes with a loop at the end so that you can

easily put it on your backdrop stand. Very convenient…THANKS!

More than just a piece of fabric
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This here backdrop means business, sure some may say that it is just a piece of cloth, but I say that it is more than a piece of simple material. This cloth allows you to setup a beautiful backdrop for all types of portrait photography, provided you have the accompanying backdrop stand. The muslin is not so thick as to block out all light, if you have a window behind it, you’ll get a lot of light, but if you shoot at night or have an adequate lighting/flash setup, you shouldn’t have an issue. Highly recommended for those looking for an economical back drop to get started with portrait photography. May I also recommend a 10′ x 20′ portable backdrop stand to use this with.

Size matters…
Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This item is advertised as being 20 feet by 10 feet. Even if you deduct the 4 or 5 inches used to construct the pocket that runs across one of the ‘ten-foot’ ends, you still do not come close to 20 feet.

Because of other reviews stating the same thing, I measured this drop as soon as it arrived. It is 9 feet wide and 18 feet long. If proper size is critical for your studio, look elsewhere.

The material feels sturdy and is definitely black black, but will transmit light (very little light if doubled, however). The backdrop without the bag weighs six pounds. The material has visible strands of white thread running through it in places.

Basically, I am using this to darken the studio and to be a background behind the shooting backdrops. I am satisfied with the product for that purpose.

Thin, seams are weak, but it’s a good lightweight option.
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is a big backdrop – plenty of room to shoot a couple, maybe even 3-4 people standing, if you’re careful with your main light and angles. If this was a thick, heavy duty muslin it would collapse my backdrop stand, actually. It’s cheapness actually makes it more easily portable, but I have some doubts about the rod pocket seams, which are sewn with a weak stitch. I’ve set it up and taken it down 5 times thus far, and it gets wadded up in between which gives it that evenly crinkled look that keeps me from having to iron it. I really, really do not want to iron it – it’s like a ship’s sail.

I’m rating it a 4 because it is surprisingly suitable for my needs, colorless (black means black, no blue or brown tones in the dye), and for sixty bucks I feel I got more than my money’s worth despite a concern about construction. If this thing holds together for a year, I’ll give it another star.

Smaller than 10×20 FOR SURE !!!
Rating:4 out of 5 stars
If they would have said, “You should expect 5% shrinkage” I may have been expecting a 9.7×20, but when I measured mine, it was 9′x19′. That is a little shorter than 10×20. As far as the backdrop itself, it is ok. Kind of thin but usable for sure. Black looks rich and dark in photos. The ONLY reason for the 4 stars was the size.

Suprising – give it a chance
Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I ordered this 10×20 back drop along with another white one and a stand. There was a problem with the stand which originally took some time to sort through but they made it right. The stand and both backdrops arrived promptly. The backdrop was shipped in its own role rather than folded or requiring ironing or other fuss…a very nice touch! I was a bit hesitant at first especially in relation to the thickness of this muslin. While it IS muslin and NOT gauze like many of the super inexpensive versions being sold on Ebay or even here on Amazon, it isn’t super thick so I was worried about opacity and unfiromity of coverage. For the price, I figured I’d have to make due and fix in Photoshop….happily that was NOT the case. The muslin performed well and looked very nice in the photos. The black came out a nice deep black and ditto for the white. Not grey, not yellow…black and white as each was supposed to be. The sizing is slightly smaller than 10×20 as mentioned in the item description but the muslin is of a decent enough quality it should wear well. Although originally hesitant and somewhat taken aback by the issue with the stand, this seller followed through and made everything “right”. Nice price, nice seller, nice photos with this and the other white backdrop. Thanks!
